Meet The Author

From as early as I can remember, I have always wanted to help others and create change within the world.  I would go to events with my family to serve and give to the less fortunate which was always extremely fulfilling.  However it was not until I was tasked with my own trials and hardships that I could help others and positively impact individuals’ lives through telling my story.  I was diagnosed with Vitiligo around age 8, at the time I was under an immense amount of stress dealing with death in the family among other things.  As time went on and my appearance changed, I started struggling with my self-confidence and self-esteem.  I fought with the thoughts of being different, weird, and not pretty enough so much that I wanted to completely hide who I was.  Despite the many obstacles, with God, my family, and friends I learned how to embrace my differences and to love myself completely for who I was regardless of what others may say or think.  I learned that I am Perfectly Different, and I hope that any child who is struggling with their differences like I was can take my story and say that they are Perfectly different too!
